World Book Night

Three staff from Doon Academy, Mrs Murray, Mrs Dorans and Mrs Bax, were lucky enough to be selected as donors for the inaugural World Book Night on 5th March 2011. They each received 48 copies of their chosen titles which were Agent Zigzag, Case Histories and The Reluctant Fundamentalist. We held a very successful book giveaway to staff at break on Friday 4th March, followed by a giveaway to pupils during mentoring on Friday afternoon. The idea of the event is to promote reading and hopefully the people who have been given the books will read them, discuss them, and then pass them on to their family or friends.
