S3 Leadership 2

The second part of the S3 Leadership Academy was a great success. Pupils developed various leadership skills from teamwork, respect, creativity, integrity, focus and awareness. An assembly will be held next week where students will graduate and receive their certificate and polo shirt. Well done to all who took part.

Successful Leadership Academy

Last week, 14 pupils and 3 members of staff attended our Leadership Academy at the PGL outdoor centre in Dalguise, Perthshire. The programme, facilitated by Mrs McLay, Mr McCrorie, and Mrs Gillespie was a great success with everyone participating in indoor workshops and outdoor activities relevant to the code of leadership for each day. Everyone gave 100% throughout the week, both individually and as a member of a team. A celebration dinner was held in the Atholl Arms Hotel, Dunkeld and everyone received their certificate and polo shirt, on the final day, at the graduation ceremony.

Leadership Academy

Doon Academy’s Leadership Academy at Dalguise will take place the week beginning the 10th May. Pupils and teachers, including former graduates, will undertake the intensive leadership programme in the 6 key areas: Perseverance, Integrity, Focus, Awareness, Service and Creativity.

The Dalguise Leadership Academy was an outstanding success. At the graduation ceremony 12 students and 2 teachers graduated as leaders. Well done to all our graduates.

Leadership Academy

Our Leadership Academy was a tremendous success this year. 12 pupils and 4 staff attended the 5-day course at PGL Outdoor Centre in Dalguise, Perthshire. 3 staff and 2 pupils who are all previous graduates of the academy facilitate the programme. The course is based around 6 codes of leadership: Awareness, Focus, Creativity, Integrity, Perseverance and Service. All pupils participate in workshops for each of the leadership codes. They also take part in outdoor activities, which are chosen specifically to link with each workshop. The celebration dinner and graduation ceremony are also an important aspects of the programme. Everyone graduated and received their Leadership polo shirt and Certificate.

Dalguide Leadership

Pupils and staff attending the Dalguise Leadership Academy are busy preparing their kit bags for their weeklong course, which starts on May 11th. 14 pupils and 7 staff are participating in the programme. Have a great trip!

Leadership

Doon Academy's S3 pupils will be taking part in various leadership activities from the 6th to the 10th of October. Pupils will be attending a residential leadership course, non-residential course in conjunction with Kilmarnock College and a sailing trip.
The first of the leadership courses will be held at our own Leadership Academy in Dalguise and will involve a mixture workshops and outdoor activities (wellies at the ready!).
The Kilmarnock College course will be structured in the same way as our Dalguise course, although this will mainly be focused on the arts.
Lastly, the girls only sailing trip will involve a team of 10 girls sailing an ocean-going schooner, Alba Venturer, around the Firth of Clyde. The destinations will be entirely dependant on the weather conditions.
All of the courses have one common goal; they will all involve team-building skills. Everyone at Doon Academy would like to wish all the pupils the best of luck in their designated Leadership Course.
